Samuel was the star of the show. Oh yeah, and in case you're wondering, Samuel is wearing a gown, not a dress. (Gowns are not just for girls as demonstrated by the thousands of male university graduates who also wear gowns during their graduation ceremonies.)
My parents are dog-sitting for some friends and Stephen loves to play with Sugar.

Is that a dress he's wearing? Dresses are for girls.
Congratulations on Samuel's baby dedication! I'm wondering if any of Samuel's parents or aunts/uncles wore the gown (many) years ago.

Randy, while sugar does taste good, you should be careful about how much you eat. Many nutritionists claim that it is very unhealthy. *
John, the cloth that adorned Samuel's body during the ceremony of his dedication as seen in the picture is known as a "gown" and can be worn by both genders of the human race. The wearing of a gown does not necessarily carry any connotation about the gender of the wearer.
Karen, the gown was worn by all the children in Samuel's mother's family (Janice and her siblings). The gown was fashioned from Samuel's grandmother's wedding gown.
(Note the use of the word "gown". It was used intentionally to draw attention to the fact that certain gowns should only be worn by members of the female gender.)**

I think the determination as to whether Samuel was wearing a dress (only for girls) or a gown (unisex) has to do with the accessories. If in fact Samuel had been wearing high heels and been carrying a purse (the photos do not show any) he would indeed have been wearing a dress. However, since Samuel was likely recieving some sort of piece of paper for his dedication (much like a diploma) then he was definately wearing a gown.
I just thought I would add my 2 cents worth....but I want change.
