Another First

Yesterday was a busy and long day for us all. In the morning we had a meeting with a rep from a great preschool program. Unfortunately the price was much too high for us poor students so we will have to use our own brains to encourage Stephen to excel in life! Needless to say, Stephen did not sleep while she was interviewing us because he wanted to know what was going on and didn't want to miss a thing! I'm told he's just like his mother in this way.
So, after lunch we drove to CanIL, figuring for sure that Stephen would sleep in the car. It wasn't to be. So we all went inside so Jono could pick up an assignment (and get directions). We were able to see some people from PNG (surprise, surprise) and some other friends. We then went into the car again to head to the SkyTrain so that we could go into Vancouver and MissionFest.
Being used to the well marked subway system of Seoul, we were quite surprised to find that the SkyTrain wasn't well labelled. We found the station (with no help from signs) and looked for a parking space. We are not used to paying for parking but did so, figuring we needed our car when we came home. We went up the elevator with Stephen in his stroller and realized that we hadn't paid for a ticket!! I guess the system works on honour, no turnstiles or ticket people around!! So Jono went back down and bought a ticket. Definitely not cheap!!! We realized that the stroller was not meant for trains because it takes up so much room. We'll remember that for next time.
We got to the Waterfront and headed in to the Convention Centre. Who would have thought that there are so many different organizations! We spent some time going down the aisles of exhibits and Jono did some of his homework. Stephen was soo tired and everyone commented on how tired he looked. That, and his red hair. For some reason, Janice got stopped three times and asked if she was someone else. She must have a twin or two in Vancouver!!
After Jono did his stint in the booth we decided to look for a place to eat some supper. As we walked out the doors, lo and behold there was a friend we hadn't seen in 3 1/2 years!! We did a quick catch up and exchanged numbers then we continued the look for food. We found a food court and after downing a falafel, we attempted to go back home. We got on the wrong train (no signs saying where it goes) but jumped off againjust before it left the station. We thanked a stranger for telling us how to get home.
Stephen didn't sleep on the train OR in the car on the drive home. We were sure that he would be dead tired and ready for bed but no, he still wanted to play when we got him ready for bed. Did someone slip him some sugar when we weren't looking? We were happy because for sure he would sleep through the night after a good feeding and no sleep. Unfortunately, he woke up, on his back hungry. I think we are going to spend some time today to teach Stephen how to roll the other way so he doesn't wake up crying when he rolls over.
There, Theresa, is that enough writing?

Well, we're new to this whole blog thing, but you should be able to post messages now. Try it, it's fun.

Entry Number One

We want to welcome you to our blog. This is our first blog, so we apologize for our lack of knowledge of such things. We will attempt to keep it up to date. We may run into problems concerning pictures due to the fact that we do not have a digital camera. Jono keeps admiring them on the web but alas, tuition and food come first!
